Questions owners ask

Straight answers on cost, app store accounts and what happens to your delivery apps. Anything missing, just ask.

01What makes this cheaper than other ordering-app services?

I build and run it myself, so there is no sales team to pay for. Your own app is $59 a month with $199 setup, where a popular ordering-app service charges $99 a month and $399 setup. And you don’t have to pay for Apple or Google developer accounts unless you want them.

02Do I need an Apple developer account?

No. I can publish your app on my Apple developer account at no cost to you. If you would rather have it in your own name, Apple charges $99 a year, and you pay that to Apple directly, not to me.

03And for Android and Google Play?

Same again. Your app can go on my Google Play account for free, or on your own, which costs a one-time $25 paid to Google directly.

04Can the app move to my own account later?

Yes. Apple and Google both support transferring an app between developer accounts, so you can start on mine and move it to yours whenever you like.

05What do you take from each order?

Nothing. It’s 0% commission. Customers pay by card through Stripe, straight into your own Stripe account. Stripe’s standard fee is 2.9% + 30¢ per card payment, and it goes to Stripe, not to me. I never touch the money.

06Do I have to leave Uber Eats or DoorDash?

No. Keep them for finding new customers. Your app is for your regulars, who already know you and order every week, so their orders stop losing a cut to commission.

07Do you do delivery?

The app takes pickup orders, and delivery orders too if you have your own drivers. I don’t provide drivers.

08Will my customers download another app?

Your regulars will, when there’s a reason to: a stamp card, a perk on their first app order and deals on quiet days. You also get QR cards for the counter and for your delivery bags.

09I only want a website. Can I just get that?

Yes. The Website plan is $49 a month with $199 setup: a fast site with your menu, an ordering button, your hours and a map. You can add the app later.

10Do I need to buy a domain for the website?

Not if you already have one. I put the new site on the domain you use now, like yourrestaurant.com. If you don’t have one yet, you buy it yourself from a domain registrar, usually around $10 to $20 a year, paid to them directly, not to me. It stays in your name.

11How long does it take?

You get a free preview first. If you like it, I give you a launch date before we start. Apple’s review is usually quick, and Google’s can take a little longer.
