The short version
WebDeck has no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. I don't run a server for it, so nothing you do in WebDeck is ever sent to me.
Stored on your iPhone only
Everything you create in WebDeck stays on your iPhone: your web apps, their icons, your home screen layout, History, settings, wallpapers and Camera photos.
Widgets, Control Center buttons and Home Screen quick actions read a copy of your app list that is kept on your device, never online.
Deleting WebDeck, or using Reset Launcher Data in Settings, removes all of it.
Websites you open
Your web apps are ordinary websites, shown in WebDeck's built-in browser. Like with any browser, those websites receive what a browser normally sends, such as your IP address and browser type, and they may use cookies. Each website's own privacy policy applies to what it does.
Private mode keeps no cookies, no website storage and no History.
Adding a site
When you add a website, WebDeck loads that site's page once to read its name and icon. That's all it's used for.
Search, News and Translate
- Searches you make in WebDeck go to Google.
- The optional News widget loads headlines from Google News.
- "Translate Page" opens the current page through Google Translate.
Google's privacy policy applies when you use these.
Camera and printing
The camera is used only to take photos and to read QR codes. Photos stay inside WebDeck: they are never added to your Photos library and never uploaded anywhere. If you turn on "Copy", each new photo is also put on your clipboard.
Printing uses Apple's own print system. Nothing is sent to me.
Backups
A backup is made only when you choose to make one. The file is encrypted with a password you set, and protected by Face ID or your passcode.
It can include your website logins (cookies) and, if you choose, your Camera photos. It's saved wherever you pick, for example the Files app. I never receive it.
Anyone who has both the backup file and its password could use those logins, so please keep both private.
WebDeck Pro
WebDeck Pro is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment, and I never see your payment details. Your purchase is checked with Apple.
A few small counters for the free version, such as how many photos you've taken, are kept in your iPhone's Keychain so they survive reinstalling the app. They never leave your device.
Children
WebDeck isn't directed at children under 13, and it collects no personal data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the update will appear on this page with a new date at the top.
